The youth of SDAM were incredible to work with. They gave me more than what I imagined was possible with the locals.


To start with, there wasn't any sort of specific theme or art direction imposed by me. I want them to do their own thing and capture the lot in the midst of all the preparation. They bring their own clothes, do their own make-up and think of how they want to project themselves in their fantasy garb. I was merely a walking shadow clicking away with a camera.



When they smiled and posed for this, I saw the inner child in each and everyone of them. It's a priceless peek into their world!



Dressing-wise, they often provoke stares from the folks on the street. But beneath that cool and dark exteriors, they are simply exercising their creativity and having fun in their own terms.
